The tour will start from the community of Inuvik. You will be travelling by boat through the Mackenzie Delta, stopping at sandy hills for a hike to view the beautiful mass of the Mackenzie Delta . We will then continue on down the Mackenzie River to the Arctic Ocean where we will stop at a traditional fishing and whaling camp where you will witness how the Inuvialuit people harvest and prepare for the winter months. You will also have a choice of traditional food, or a  sandwich and a hot cup of tea or coffee. 

Leaving East Whitefish station, we will cross the Arctic Ocean to the Hamlet of Tuktoyaktuk, land of the pingos. While in Tuk you will enjoy a local tour of the community and its rich Inuvialuit history, you will have the chance to dip your toe in the Arctic Ocean and get a certificate. The tour is both ways, boat to Tuk and fly back to Inuvik, you also have the option to fly from Inuvik to Tuk and return by boat.

The tour will start in the community of Inuvik, travelling by boat across the massive Mackenzie Delta. Along the way you will witness the largest and longest river system in Canada, and is exceeded only by the Mississippi river in North America. There will be a stop along the way to visit a local Delta cabin where you will hear about the traditional use of the delta, fishing, hunting & trapping etc. There will be a traditional lunch provided of bannock, smoked tea or coffee.

We will carry on across the Mackenzie river to the hamlet of Aklavik, the resting place of the “MAD TRAPPER”  Did you know Aklavik is over 100 years old? I can go on and on about Aklavik and its rich history, so come and find out more about Aklavik on this amazing tour package.  You will have the option to boat to Aklavik then fly over the Mackenzie Delta back to Inuvik or fly to Aklavik and boat back to Inuvik.
